BIOGRAPHY

I obtained my PhD in plant biology at the University Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand) in March 2004. My work focused on the role of glutathione peroxidases in Plant responses to stresses.  From 2004 to 2005, I was post-doc at the CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique) on the response of the Arabidopsis thaliana transcriptome to heavy metal treatments. In September 2005, I was recruited as a lecturer at the University of Clermont Auvergne, within the PIAF to contribute to the study of the tree responses to environmental stresses. Since 2017, I am the leader of the SurEau team.

CURRENT RESEARCH.

In the context of the SurEau team (cf. the description of the team’s activities), my activities aim to 1) identify structural, biochemical and molecular determinants of hydraulic safety traits and 2) analyze the variability of these traits. I am also working on the contribution of oxidative metabolism in the response to abiotic stresses.

TEACHING

Most of my teaching activity are practical field courses: floristics, description of plant community, management and protection of flora and nature. I also teach cell biology, and various aspects of plant biology: classification, anatomy, physiology of stress responses, ecophysiology, plant ecology.

SCIENTIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Since 2019, I am a member of the COST (Scientific and Strategic Orientation Board) of the ITEIPMAI (Technical and Interprofessional Institute of Medicinal, Aromatic and Industrial Plants).

Aware about the erosion of biodiversity, I am (have been) a member of scientific councils for :

• - the CSRPN (Regional Scientific Council for Natural Spaces) of the AuRA region, since 2011. Flora expert in current affairs, expert for ZNIEFF, member of the commission "exemption to protected species".
• - The CBNMC (National Botanical Conservatory of Massif Central), since 2010.
• - The CEN Auvergne and Allier (2011-2017)
• - The RNN (national nature reserve) of Chastreix-Sancy (2013-2017).
