Identify, evaluate and propose effective strategies for protection against spring frosts

Team : MEA

Presentation

The goal is to identify, evaluate, and propose effective strategies for protection against spring frosts:

  • A set of complementary actions (synthesis of existing systems, networked equipment studies, on-site test benches, equipment anticipation and management, etc.) have been implemented to support regional arborists and limit the impacts of a climatic phenomenon that threatens the very existence of fruit production in the Southern Region. The primary objective is to improve the production consistency of regional arboriculture businesses.
  • The goal is also to better understand the environmental impacts that protection strategies will generate: GHGs, but also soil compaction after sprinkling, microparticle emissions from heating systems, leaching from sprinkling water, etc.
