Study on the effects of global warming on larch, particularly in terms of water stress

Context

In the Hautes-Alpes department, the Forêts Alpines association aims to bring together all the expertise and desire to act to create a more virtuous and reasoned management of the territory's forests. It relies in particular on a scientific observatory that analyzes the changes impacting forest ecosystems. For example, as part of the "Common Forests" project supported by the Fondation de France, a study was conducted in the village of Villard Saint-Pancrace on the effects of global warming on larch, particularly in terms of water stress. To complement this research, scientific experiments, based on the planting of four different types of trees at various altitudes and the monitoring of their respective behavior, were launched. The objective: to help forests become more resilient by preserving the tree species that are part of the local ecosystem, while reasonably integrating new species adapted to these environments.
